Jacob Sickinger grew up on the Coffs Coast and is fond of its lifestyle and environmental qualities. He graduated with first class Honours from Griffith University (Brisbane) with a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning. Jacob’s honours dissertation investigated the impediments to planning for and developing more sustainable and affordable housing and was entitled: Energy Efficient Design: The first step toward an affordable sustainable house.
After working for GeoLINK for a couple of years, Jacob moved to Melbourne where he worked for Yarra City Council (one of Victoria’s most diverse and busiest planning departments) as a statutory planner for four and a half years. In 2017 Jacob returns to Coffs Harbour and re-joins the GeoLINK team.
Jacob has a strong ethic for sustainable development and holds keen interests in strategic and statutory planning, planning for new development and also upholding environmental standards. Jacob was recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia (QLD Division) for the best fourth year academic performance at Griffith University (2009). He has worked on numerous planning and environmental assessment reports and carries outs environmental investigations, impact assessments, and planning report preparation.
