Since 2003, GeoLINK and Ballina Shire Council have hosted the annual Lennox Head Community Tree Planting Day to coincide with World Environment Day – the biggest, most globally celebrated day for positive environmental action. This important initiative aims to protect our natural heritage and create a lasting natural legacy for future generations.
The local community is warmly invited to take positive environmental action by joining us for this year’s event at the top of the headland to help plant some trees on Friday 8 June 2018.
Trees, mulch, water and some planting tools will be supplied by Ballina Shire Council. The Lennox business community and volunteer groups have generously donated a barbecue and refreshments.
Now in its 16th year, the popular community event continues its goal of reinstating the Lennox headland back to the way it was in the 1800’s and, through the planting of littoral rainforest species, creating a lasting natural legacy for generations to come.
When: Friday, 8 June 2018 from 9.00am to 12.00pm
Where: Top of Lennox headland (follow signs)
Bring: Sun protection, closed footwear and gardening gloves and tools (if owned)
