GeoLINK have been providing professional civil engineering in Lismore since 2014. Our civil engineering service forms part of our expert engineering assessment and design service. The Lismore office is part of our strategic business network that includes Lennox Head, Coffs Harbour and Armidale. This network of experienced professionals means we’re able to deliver tailored solutions to complex engineering projects.
GeoLINK have always maintained a work ethos that encompasses sustainability and environmental responsibility. As such, our projects are designed to have the least impact on the environment whilst delivering excellent outcomes for both the client and the community. Lismore is located inland within NNSW. It’s located in a low-lying area prone to flooding from the Wilsons River. As a result, flood management is an on-going concern.
The following is a recent example of an on-going project won by our GeoLINK office in Lismore.
Flying-fox Camps in Byron Shire
There are 5 flying-fox camps in the Byron Shire, located in close proximity to urban areas. Flying-foxes can occupy a camp for months or years and generally leave for the winter. Over the last few years, one camp in Byron Bay has had residents all year. At the other four camps, the flying-foxes leave over the winter months, to return in the spring. The Council is working with residents and GeoLINK to manage the impact of living with these flying-fox camps. GeoLINK was engaged to undertake a Management Actions Plan in an effort to alleviate impacts caused by the flying-fox camp on the residential area.
