Clarence Valley Sportsfields Masterplans and Designs
Client: Clarence Valley Council
GeoLINK has been engaged by Clarence Valley Council to undertake a design review of their existing sporting facilities in Iluka, Yamba and Junction Hill. This project involved providing an overview of each facility to determine the most economical solutions to existing site restrictions, as well as planning for future needs within the community.
Illuka sporting fields
A community meeting was held with local sporting groups to discuss sporting needs. Alternative concept layouts were prepared for the sporting field to allow for the installation of new electrical lighting poles.
Yamba sporting fields
Review existing drainage and develop concepts to maximise drainage flow within and off the site. Prepare site regrading works to improve existing drainage within the sporting complex. Locate future AFL and rugby fields, netball courts and training areas. Develop upgrade for on-site car and bus parking, and internal roadway.
Junction Hill athletics track
Following site consultation with athletics association, a concept proposal was developed to increase length and width of athletics track to meet current standards, and earthworks and drainage works to eliminate current soft areas in the existing facility and redirect drainage swales clear of the track.
Construction of upgrading works will be undertaken by Council.
