George Booth Drive, Edgeworth LES
Client: Lake Macquarie City Council
GeoLINK is engaged to prepare a Local Environmental Study for a 95 ha site, located on the southern side of George Booth Drive, Edgeworth NSW for Lake Macqaurie City Council. The objective of the LES will be to provide a framework that will facilitate the creation of a village style development for the site.
Council resolved to prepare an LEP amendment for the site, which provides an excellent opportunity to plan for a new urban community to support the proposed Pambulong Town Centre.
By incorporating ‘new urbanist’ principles, the development will strengthen and reinforce the local community; create a greater level of local resilience; and provide for environmental, social and economic benefits locally and for the wider Lake Macquarie LGA.
GeoLINK’s knowledge of and commitment to sustainable design principles is ensuring these longer term improved outcomes will come to fruition.
The recommendations within the LES will be primarily derived from the assessment and analysis undertaken as part of the project. The LES will also have reference to the proponent’s vision and desires for the site and the extent to which those visions align with the Council’s and the community’s strategic intent.
