South Urunga Sub-division
Client: Trustees of Roman Catholic Church, Lismore Diocese, Bellingen Parish
The Lismore Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church proposes to develop part of its land at South Urunga for the purpose of a residential subdivision, including the provision for a small neighbourhood commercial centre, a neighbourhood park and significant areas of environmental conservation and enhancement. The site is located on the eastern side of the Pacific Highway, in the Shire of Bellingen, approximately 2 km south of the village centre of Urunga, on the mid-north coast region of NSW.
The site has significant ecological values including an Endangered Ecological Communities, high conservation value vegetation, and part of a SEPP 14 wetland. These areas of ecological value have guided the development footprint and have resulted in the majority of the site being proposed as a conservation area.
GeoLINK is applying for Development Consent under Part 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment (EP&A) Act 1979 and will submit a Statement of Environmental Effects assessing the potential environmental impacts of the proposed development.
