Simon Williams

Simon is a highly skilled environmental planning, approvals and compliance specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the development, infrastructure and environmental consulting sectors. As a longstanding Director of GeoLINK and founder of the Armidale office, Simon provides strategic leadership and technical expertise across a broad range of planning, environmental assessment and compliance projects throughout NSW.

He has led numerous large-scale, multidisciplinary environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure, resource and development projects. His expertise includes developing consultation strategies, engaging with government agencies and communities, and negotiating project approvals, licences, permits and conditions with regulatory authorities.
Simon’s statutory planning experience includes providing strategic planning advice, environmental assessment services and guidance on complex development approval pathways. He is well regarded for helping clients navigate planning legislation, development controls and regulatory requirements to achieve successful project outcomes.
Environmental Auditing and Compliance
Simon is an accredited environmental auditor with extensive experience undertaking environmental audits and compliance reviews for major construction and operational projects, including roads, bridges, dams, quarries, mines and pipeline infrastructure.
He has significant expertise in environmental management systems, regulatory compliance, project assurance and independent environmental oversight.
Due to his recognised experience and credibility in the industry, Simon has been appointed as the independent Environmental Representative (ER) for several major New South Wales infrastructure projects, including:
- Coffs Harbour Bypass
- Newcastle Inner City Bypass Stage 5
- Rushforth WTP
- New Grafton Bridge
- Keepit Dam Upgrade
- Sapphire to Woolgoolga Pacific Highway Upgrade
- Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Pacific Highway Upgrade

- Qualified Environmental Compliance Auditor
- Member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ)

- Commonwealth Government-approved EPBC Auditor
He has extensive experience providing independent environmental oversight for major transport, mining, bridge and water infrastructure projects and is recognised for his practical, solutions-focused approach to environmental management, compliance and project delivery.
