Railway Park is a traditional meeting place in Byron Bay. The park’s connection to the centre of town, the Railway Station, bus stops, the Visitor Centre and the Community Centre means the park is located in a prominent position in the town centre for visitors and is a valued public space.
Railway Park is part of the Byron Town Centre Masterplan and has recently undergone an upgrade bringing the area back to life.
Byron Shire Council recently engaged GeoLINK to prepare a Review of Environmental Factors for the undertaking of landscaping works to restore the rail corridor, as part of the Railway Park Concept Plans.
The main aim for rail corridor concept plan is to provide safe and equitable circulation paths connecting the town centre to the western side of the rail corridor.
The concept plan will improve links into and through the recently completed Railway Park upgrade. The landscape works, will also considerably increase the footprint and integrity of town centre public spaces.
The landscape works play an important role in complimenting and safeguarding the heritage value of the rail precinct by enabling passive use and appreciation for the space.
We offer a range of environmental services, view them here.
