Byron Shire Council has engaged GeoLINK to prepare concept designs for the traffic lane changes for their proposed trial of one-way traffic in Centennial Circuit, Byron Bay.
Design objectives will ensure that the one-way traffic lane is adequate for the anticipated vehicle use and to optimise roadside car parking. The works will likely involve line- marking, temporary barriers and appropriate signage.
GeoLINK will also suggest appropriate parking options; develop a final design suitable for consultation with land owners and others in the community; and develop a final design suitable for implementation of the works.
The one-way trial is to be conducted from the intersection of Brigantine Street to the intersection of Wollongbar Street in Centennial Circuit. The intention is for traffic to move from east to west. If the trial is successful Council will look to expand it permanently within the Estate.
