GeoLINK was engaged by Richmond Valley Council to prepare a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) that involved the construction of a concrete shared cycleway from the Broadwater township to Broadwater Headland. The overall length of the cycleway is 3.5 kilometres (approximately) and is 2.5 metres wide.
Broadwater, on the Richmond River, is located 725 kilometres north of Sydney and is known for its huge and historic sugar mill.
GeoLINK also prepared a REF for a proposal that involved an additional 500 metres of concrete shared cycleway (Pacific Highway to George Street/Broadwater Evans Head Road intersection) which was an extension to the project.
Construction started on the shared pathway in early April 2018 and the full project was completed by November 2018.
