About this project

In late 2017, it was announced that a new hospital would be built on a greenfield site located three kilometres north of Macksville’s town centre, with the NSW Government committing $73 million to the development.

GeoLINK played an important role in the approvals process and the development of this exciting new hospital. Our town planners provided expert advice on the approval pathway, planning implications and environmental guidance, including preparing a Statement of Environment Effects for the approval of early work regarding the development.

GeoLINK also undertook an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and lodged a State Significant Development Application under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.

The EIS documented potential impacts of the development, and detailed protective measures to be implemented to reduce impacts. Our team of environmental consultants, planners and ecologists undertook a comprehensive assessment of all environmental factors and prepared specialist Bushfire and Biodiversity Assessments.

The new hospital is now operational and enhances patient care while also improving ambulatory care and outpatient treatments including improved facilities in emergency, community health, operating theatres, maternity and inpatient units.

GeoLINK is experienced within the medical infrastructure industry having provided services to the recent Armidale and Coffs Harbour Hospital Redevelopments, the Lidcombe Forensic Medicine and Coroner’s Court and the new Tweed Valley Hospital project.
