planning advice hospital infrastructure

About this project

In June 2020, the new $673.2 million Tweed Valley Hospital received final planning approval from the NSW Government. The main building works will begin later this year.

NSW Health Infrastructure engaged GeoLINK as planning consultants for this exciting new hospital development.  We undertook several due diligence reports for the site selection process and continued to provide advice through to approval of the Concept Proposal and the first and second stage applications of the State Significant Development (SSD).

During the site selection process, GeoLINK provided town planning due diligence advice and GIS analysis. This resulted in a review of over 50 sites, and further examination of the shortlisted sites.

Planning advice

GeoLINK provided expert planning approval pathway advice for the new site at Cudgen/Kingscliff.  We reviewed and outlined the statutory controls and the applicable approval pathway. Including the constraints, opportunities and risks associated with the site. In addition, we provided advice regarding the required rezoning and development approvals process.

GeoLINK’s planning consultants assisted with obtaining development consent for this SSD, including a Concept Proposal and Stage 1 and 2 SSD applications.

GeoLINK also worked with TSA Management (the Project Manager), providing expert advice and high quality report preparation. We prepared a range of reports including:

  • Environmental Impact Statements
  • Concept Proposal Visual Impact Assessment
  • Stage 2 Bushfire Hazard Assessment
  • Stage 2 Agricultural Offset Plan.

We reviewed many specialist reports and provided planning advice to specialist consultants.

The Minister for Planning and Public Spaces has successfully approved all components of the project. Construction of the hospital is underway.

GeoLINK is experienced within the medical infrastructure industry. We have provided services to the recent Armidale and Coffs Harbour Hospital Redevelopments, the Lidcombe Forensic Medicine and Coroner’s Court and the new Macksville Hospital project.
